CutePDF Writer (formerly CutePDF Printer) is the free version of commercial PDF creation software. CutePDF Writer installs itself as a "printer subsystem". This enables virtually any Windows applications (must be able to print) to create professional quality PDF documents - with just a push of a button!

Installation Requirements

* Supports Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista.
* Requires PS2PDF converter such as Ghostscript (recommended).

The CutePDF Writer program consists of two parts. You will need both to make CutePDF work.

Step 1: Download GNU Converter
You need to install the converter first. Your Internet browser will probably ask if the program must be saved or opened. Click ‘Open.’ Then click OK to install the postscript driver.

Step 2: Download CutePDF Writer
After installing the converter you can install the CuteWriter. Again your browser will ask if the program must be saved or opened. Click ‘Open' and follow the prompts through the installation process.

To create PDF files:

To use CutePDF Writer, open the file that you would like to print to PDF. Select the Print option (usually found under File > Print), and select "CutePDF Writer" from the list of available printers. You will be prompted to select the destination directory and filename for your output file.

Please note that some applications, such as NotePad, will automatically print to your default printer when you select the Print option. If you want to create PDF file, you may need to change your printer selection within that application before printing the file.
